UPDATED: Emergency services are responding to a road traffic collision between a car and a pedestrian at Ningwood this evening (Tuesday).
The incident has occurred outside The Horse and Groom pub on the A3054 Ningwood Hill between Shalfleet and Yarmouth.
Island Echo understands the pedestrian has stepped out from behind a bus and has been hit by a car travelling in the opposite direction.
The impact occurred at around 17:30.
UPDATE @ 18:31 – 1 person, thought to be a young male, has been transferred to St Mary’s Hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance deployed 2 ambulance crews and a rapid response paramedic to the scene.
Emergency services have now stood down. The road remains open as normal.
