There was a double celebration for PC Consultants at their recent 30th anniversary bash in Cowes, as it was announced that the Ryde-based company has acquired Wightbyte Computers.
PC Consultants hosted a special event attended by over 190 guests at The Royal Yacht Squadron on 23rd May, where canapés and champagne were enjoyed in the sunshine.
Jonathan Thornton CEO gave a short presentation touching on the past 3 decades of the business, with the gathered audience treated to 2 compositions by Island-based singer-songwriter Beth Brookfield.
News coming out of the landmark event, which added to the celebration, was that the company has acquired Wightbyte Computers, which has been serving the Island for over 20 years as a mobile computer repair, servicing and maintenance business.
The move further strengthens and reflects PC Consultants’ ability to support all those who rely on IT at home and in business and who need a professional service from a company able to respond effectively to their needs and advances in technology, irrespective of size and industry.
Wightbyte Computers was founded in 2001 by Ian Luff and Graham Tutton and share with PC Consultants the core values of customer care and high service standards that have driven their success and made them popular with their clients across the Isle of Wight.
Ian Luff, Co-Founder of Wightbyte, has said:
“As a successful business with a loyal and long-established client base, we were quite particular whom we handed the reins to and as PC Consultants have built a very well-respected business on the Isle of Wight for 30 years, we felt that they are the perfect ‘fit’ for our customers to receive the same level of service and care that they have come to expect.
“We have been working closely with the team from PC Consultants to ensure a seamless transition. The only difference clients will see is a different person at their door or in the workshop.”
PC Consultants is independently owned with all employees living and based on the Island. Founded in 1993 by Mike Parsons and Sean Colson, from who the company takes its name, the company now works with hundreds of businesses and private clients, covering all business sectors and size of businesses across the Island, UK mainland and internationally. Today, the company is multi-award winning and employs 25 staff from its offices and dedicated workshops in Ryde.
Jonathan Thornton, CEO of PC Consultants, adds:
“From our IT Sales, Service and Support Offering – to our Online & Digital Consultants and Experts. PC Consultants is built upon our team. Having the chance to celebrate and share this important milestone with them our customers and friends was a truly great feeling.
“The addition of Wightbyte into our Island portfolio, a company with very similar views of high customer service and retention, was the perfect fit as we continue to build their legacy and grow as a business, we look forward to celebrating more milestones in the future.”
