A popular café in East Cowes is up for sale its owners have announced today (Monday). Betty’s Door – located on Clarence Road – opened up in 2022 and since then has served super tasty baked goods, sweet treats, pastries and more to not just East Cowes residents but Islanders alike. However, taking to their Facebook page co-owners Victoria and Aiden said they were ‘sad’ to be saying goodbye having closed for the final time on Saturday (13th July).
“We want to say a huge thank you to all of our staff who have been amazing and to our customers who have used us over the last 2 years and although we are sad to be saying goodbye we are also excited to see what new owners will do with her. “Aiden and I have undertaken new positions recently and with a couple of staff members moving on to pastures new we have decided to close Betty’s Door.”
Back at the start of 2023, the North Wight premises was given the green light to add a small selection of alcohol to its menu, as previously reported by Island Echo. The business is to be listed on the market within the next few weeks with it hoped that the next ‘budding café owner’ can take over.
Overpriced food and drink. It was easy to see it coming.
Such a shame. The WEF are causing small businesses to
Close down, very sad.
How many more businesses will be closing down after the
School holidays.
Extortionate rates etc, are too blame
Just wait until The Labour Party’s first budget.
I’m sure you’re right. The WEF have been eyeing this business for a long time with their nice lunches and their freshly made coffee. They don’t fit in with the new world order…….I think…….. probably………or something.
