UPDATED: OVERTURNED CAR CLOSES ROAD BETWEEN ASHEY AND BRADING

Police have closed the backroad between Ashey and Brading this evening (Wednesday) due to the carriageway being blocked by an overturned car. The incident on Green Lane, near to the junction with Ashey Road, has seen a small car come to rest on its side. No other vehicles are thought to be involved. Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are now checking over the driver having been called to the scene just before 17:50. The road is closed in both directions between Ashey Road and East Ashey Lane. Recovery has been arranged. UPDATE @ 19:45 – The road has now fully reopened.
