UPDATED: O2 and Tesco customers in Sandown face another day of having no mobile phone signal following a mast fault in the area.
Customers reported late last night (Wednesday) that they had lost mobile phone signal in the area of Sandown Bay, with the fault continuing throughout today causing significant disruption to O2 customers. Tesco Mobile also operates on the same network.
An engineer is due to visit the mast tomorrow morning to inspect the issue further. No time frame for a repair has been set.
A spokesperson for O2 has told Island Echo:
“A mast in Sandown has developed a problem and an engineer is scheduled to visit the site tomorrow to understand more about the issue. We will fix the problem as soon as we can and apologise for any inconvenience.”
UPDATE FRIDAY @ 13:00 – O2 have confirmed that the mast is now fully operational having been fixed at 11:50 this morning.
