13 postcode areas in Sandown have been hit by a power cut this afternoon (Wednesday).
Homes and businesses in the PO36 8 region are without electricity supply after the fault manifested itself at around 12:10.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks are aware of the issue and have sent engineers to investigate further.
It is currently anticipated that power will be restored by 15:00.
For further information about this power cut call the dedicated helpline by dialling 105.
Alternatively, you can send SSEN a message on Facebook or Twitter (@ssencommunity).
App: Did you know SSEN also have a mobile phone app where you can report, locate, track and subscribe to faults in your area?

People say that mining Bitcoins takes massive amounts of electricity, could it be that, or perhaps those ‘cultivating’ a cash crop to earn ten thousand per loft full, tax free and still claim all be nefits?
Seems a lot of power cuts nowadays, so must be a reason?
I would wager the latter IF either is the cause. Could be ground movement breaking cables, but with all the houses being built overloads will become frequent soon.
