A driver has been summonsed to appear in court after being found driving a vehicle with no insurance and no valid MOT or tax.
Officers from the High Harm Team stopped the Volvo S40 on the Esplanade at Ryde earlier this morning (Friday).
Roadside checks found that the vehicle has not been MOTed since November and hasn’t been taxed since October.
The car has since been seized.
Just 1?,there are hundreds driving around Island especially at night but nothing is done. Anyone can find these and run checks themselves on gov website and mid . What happened to ANPR cameras at petrol stations, Coppins bridge etc ?.
Do something about it instead of whinging, with the information on illegal drivers you have pass it onto the authorities.
I have done this for the last two years each it has been sorted out, sometimes takes a bit of time to get results but the end result is good.
Don’t stop there, keep looking for the rest, I would expect a lot of these drivers are also driving and drinking/drugged up…

Only after 14 days if they don’t pay the fine and costs and obtain a valid insurance policy for that vehicle.

Have you reported this car? Have you passed on the registration number to the Police via 101? Glad you are so observant but nothing will get done unless you report this defect.
Oh loads in Freshwater ,drug driving and no tax insurance etc and reported it.Stop of Moa place before meeting up at bay for a spliff and a quick race up military road.
No MOT = Void insurance anyway.

3rd parties would still be covered if a claim was made and you couldn’t be convicted of driving without insurance
Bloody good show. Get ’em all and crush or sell the cars and give the money to worthwhile island charities. What gives these chavs the right to be driving on public roads uninsured, no tax or MOT.
