Newport came alive on Saturday night (2nd August) as the annual carnival procession wowed crowds with music, dance and dazzling displays of colour.
The streets of the Island’s county town were lined with spectators who enjoyed an evening of entertainment from community groups, performers and decorated floats.
The event is part of the Isle of Wight’s vibrant summer carnival season, which continues over the coming weeks with festivities planned in towns across the Island. The next carnival is Shanklin Main on Wednesday (6th August), moving off at 19:00.
Organisers have thanked everyone who took part and supported the event, making this year’s Newport Carnival one to remember.
