Isle of Wight tyre fitting firm, Barney’s Tyres, has announced that it has ceased trading.
The business, based on Forest Road, revealed on Facebook over the weekend that due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’, the business has now closed.
No further information has been given as to the reasoning for the sudden, unexpected decision.
In recent years a number of different tyre companies have established themselves on the Island, many offering similar services to one another.
In a statement, those behind the business have said:
“Carlos and I would like to thank all our loyal customers over the last 10 years.
“We would also like to thank our dedicated employees.
“Many thanks for all you’re hard work.”

Rising costs for businesses, rising costs for customers means that small companies with little finances to fall back on close, there will be more closures for months to come as the financial squeeze continues. Bigger businesses with more to fall back on will survive a little longer.

No doubt there was too much pressure!
A number of tyre companies offering similar services what a dum ass statement they are tyre retail and fitting companies they all offer the same bloody services the only thing that varies is the price and Barney’s was cheapest as far as I’m aware good service and you could just drive in unannounced and get new tyres fitted there and then as well no booking no appointments just turn up, Barney’s will be missed that’s for sure

Sad news was a trustworthy company.
Now need to find another.
Wooton tyres are a good place, and the guys are really helpful, used them for a few years now.
So sad to hear this , as staff were always polite and good prices on tyres .
Shame they were a fabulous, fast and efficient team
