A Lake man who was arrested on suspicion of murdering an 84-year-old woman at her home in Ryde will face no further action, Police have confirmed.
It was on the afternoon of 15th June this year that the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service alerted Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary to an unexplained death at an address on Wood Street.
Officers attended and a murder investigation was launched as detectives probed the circumstances surrounding the death of the elderly woman.
A 59-year-old man from Newcomen Road, Lake was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into custody for questioning. He was later bailed.
However, Police have now confirmed that their suspect has been released without charge and will face no further action.
Following a thorough investigation, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary is no longer treating the death as suspicious.
Last month Island Echo reported that a man arrested on suspicion of murdering an elderly woman in Wootton had been released, as her death was too found not to be suspicious.
