Officers from the North East Wight Neighbourhoods Policing Team are making enquiries after at least 2 motorcycles were stolen in Ryde overnight on Tuesday into Wednesday.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary were called at 07:51 yesterday (Wednesday) with reports that a silver Honda motorcycle had been stolen from outside a property on St Thomas’ Street.
The owner of the bike – a Honda Roadster with the registration ORF 50W – awoke to discover their bike missing from the car park of Brigstocke Terrace.
Just 40 minutes later, Police received a report that a red Honda motorcycle had also been stolen overnight from the Daniel Street area. This bike has since been located, however.
Enquiries continue.
UPDATE FRIDAY – It has been confirmed that the Honda was located in a damage state in Wroxall yesterday.
Horrible vehicles, loud and noisy and filtering through traffic pushing in when oncoming vehicles block their way giving the driver behind a nose full of exhaust fumes. Must say i feel limited sympathy whenever i hear a motorcyclist coming off their bike.
As opposed to noisy cars with inconsiderate and poorly-skilled drivers? If more people rode motorcycles there would be less pollution and less traffic congestion. And if you actually tried it you might find it’s far better than stuck in a smelly, polluted car. I’ll be sure to have “limited sympathy” when you inevitably crash your car and injure yourself. And the story is about someone having their possession stolen, so get that chip off your shoulder you moron.

That bike has the stander exhausts on it. Is well looked after. And when I have seen it, well driven.
Brilliant vehicles, some are loud and noisy and they legally filter through traffic caused by all those cars sat there polluting the air, until a plonker like you pulls out on them to show how annoyed you are that your car is going nowhere. idiotic comments are as common as rubbish car drivers on the island it seems.

What about the van down union road in Yelfs carpark with no TAX or MOT , that could easily used for that sort of crime?
Why shouldn’t they be investigated by police? Ok so there may be more important things to investigate, but its still a theft.
What happens when no police. If you can, add a tracker. Cheap today. I have one on mine. And when you find your bike, don’t call the police, they will do nothing. Pop on the local pub, offer £50 for some muscle, get bike back with some forceful persuasion. A mte did this a few years ago, worked a treat.
Such thieves deserve more than what courts will ever impose upon them, that is for certain.
