A minor 2-car collision is causing some tailbacks in Arreton this morning (Friday).
The incident has occurred on Arreton Street – the main road between Sandown and Newport – near to the junction with Cherrywood View.
Police are on scene having been called shortly before 10:40.
No one is thought to have been seriously injured in the smash, in which 1 vehicle is thought to have collided into the rear of another.
The road remains open in both directions.

Despite a low speed limit. Too many aggressive drivers drive a few inches behind anyone driving within the speed limit, trying to push you faster.
Not me, just driver slower.
A lot of drivers have trouble keeping under 30 M.P.H on this stretch of road.
How can you possibly have a problem driving at 30 mph in a 30 mph speed limit
all you have to do is change into a lower gear. I know if you are elderly that would
be difficult, as they tend to keep in one gear whatever the circumstances.
A higher revving engine in lower gear wastes fuel and causes pollution. Speed limits should be a minimum of 35 to ensure a high gear can be utilised at all times.
Better to waste fuel and keep people safe, but being a woman driver you probably wouldn’t understand.
Do an advanced police driving course and the police say always use 3rd gear in a 30 zone, it maintains speed easier as well as traction.
Dont recall being told that, would like to know where this logic comes from.
They get paid, and paid well, and can afford to waste fuel, others can’t

I have driven various cars along that road at the speed limit of 30mph; but I nearly always end up with some idiot in a huge ego booster car driving on my bumper. I love it when that happens-you will not make me break the law by trying to intimate me !!!!!
Totally agree, I always use cruise control. I think you mean intimidate. Intimate is, well, something else.
