The Medina Marching Band are set to pay tribute to their late chairman, Kevin Hayward, with their Spring Memorial Concert on Friday 22nd March at Christ The King College. At the time of Kevin’s passing the band said:
“Kevin always put the band at the top of his priority list. He sacrificed so much of his personal and family time to make sure the band always progressed and stayed strong. “Even on evenings and weekends when the band wasn’t on, there was always something to do, and he wanted to make sure it was done right or how he wanted. “He often took it upon himself to do a lot of this work himself. “Thank you for all you did to bring back our band – back to where it belongs.” “We promise you this: we shall strive to keep Medina Marching Band where you have got it, you’ve set the bar, your legacy lives on, we will never forget what you have done for MMB and its members past and present.”
The concert will feature a range of pieces, including some of Kevin’s personal favourites such as World in Union. The band have been busy over the winter and can’t wait to share their new music in the concert. Tickets are £10 per person and can be purchased online or on the door. Doors open at 19:00 with the concert starting at 19:30 on Friday 22nd March at Christ The King College. There will also be a short interval for refreshments.
