Wightlink has been forced to cancel no less than 12 sailings on its Fishbourne to Portsmouth route tomorrow (Wednesday) due to a mechanical issue.
The cross-Solent service has been experiencing problems for almost a week, with cancelled crossings on Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday. A further 2 crossings were cancelled this afternoon and both the 20:00 from Portsmouth and the 20:50 from Fishbourne have been pulled tonight.
Wightlink haven’t explained in detail what the problem is, simply saying that due to a mechanical issue on one of their ships they will be running a temporary timetable on Wednesday.
The following sailings have been cancelled on Wednesday (25th April):
From Fishbourne: 07:30, 09:30, 11:30, 14:30, 16:30 and 18:30
From Portsmouth: 06:30, 08:30, 10:30, 13:30, 15:30 and 17:30
Delays are expected throughout the day on the Solent, at terminals and on the surrounding roads.
