LOCAL PRODUCE A PRIORITY FOR THE KYNGES WELL

thekyngeswell2Local, fresh produce at affordable prices are key priorities for Tom and Matthew Axford as they open the doors to The Kynges Well in Brading tomorrow (Friday).

Tom, the former head chef at The Fighting Cocks, has spent the last 6 months finalising plans to open his first pub with brother Matthew and ultimately bring back to life a quaint pub in the heart of the historic town of Brading, formally The Dark Horse.

The pub – situated on Brading High Street – has been closed for well over a year leaving a beautiful, well presented building empty. But now Tom and Matthew are set to open the doors once again with an aim to provide quality, well-presented food at affordable prices serving nothing but fresh produce which is to be locally sourced where possible.

thekyngeswell3The duo have spent the last 3 years looking for the right location to open their own kitchen and having walked through the door of what is now to be called The Kynges Well, Tom and Matthew fell in love and the ideas started to develop.

The Kynges Well will open its doors between 11:00 and 23:00 Monday to Saturday and 11:00 to 22:30 on a Sunday. Food is set to be served Monday-Friday between 12:00-14:30 & 18:00-21:00 and 12:00-21:00 at the weekends.

The grand opening tomorrow (Friday) is at 18:00 with live acoustic music from Risky Business band member, Phill Ledicott.

Word of the new venture has spread with the grand opening already fully booked (for food) and bookings filling up fast for Saturday and Sunday.
