A small number of homes in Gunville on the outskirts of Newport are without power this morning (Thursday).
A local network fault has resulted in the loss of supply for those living in the PO30 5 area.
Power was lost at 06:23 and is not expected to be restored until around 10:00.
A total of 11 postcodes are affected.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Network are aware of the issue and engineers are working to restore supplies as quickly as possible.

Power went out at approx 05:55, and came back at approx 07:55.

One expects such outage never caused any issues whilst the residents of this run down area of Wight prepared breakfast.
Opening a packet of crisps would hardly be made any the more difficult by lack of electricity.

Power cuts happen all the time, all over the country, anyone would think the Island is immune from such happenings..
I expect it will be on Sky News later, or perhaps the heavily edited BBC news…

That would depend on if they’d got their Giro through yet, it must be getting close to the dope truck coming over on the ferries.
Or has the Island become self sufficient now?..

Apparently the firm came here as they knew the inhabitants were very qualified in growing techniques, and with the huge level of users, getting staff would be no problem. Ensuring they clock off well might be an issue though.
