A BMW engulfed by flames has resulted in a call-out for firefighters and police this evening (Sunday).
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service and Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary are on scene on the B3399 between Mottistone and Brightstone, having been called shortly after 22:00.
At the scene, a BMW 3-series has caught fire and is completely engulfed by flames.
The B3399 is currently blocked on Hunny Hill.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area for the time being.
It is unclear how the fire has started, or if any injuries have been sustained.

Not good
It is shocking what is happening on island roads
24/7
Surely by now even the “SO” called authorities realise there is
a problem on Island Roads
Speeding
Drink and Drug driving
Parking ILLEGALLY on Double Yellow Lines,
Zig Zags and pavements
Vehicles with “NO” MOT
It is beyond a joke, more law and order is required
on Island roads.
Time to make our roads safe like Sir Sadiq Khan
has done to the Big Smoke.
20mph limit everywhere
speed Camera’s everywhere, but it WORKS
and whoever on the island introduces such
RULES, maybe they will be Knighted for
their achievements
Please let the occupants be safe
I’m told the driver was ‘doing doughnuts.’
I think you mean the driver is a doughnut.
