UPDATED: 6 Police units and a rapid response paramedic are in attendance at a camp site in Apse Heath near Lake this afternoon (Friday).
Emergency services responded to Village Way camping and touring on the main Newport to Sandown road at just before 13:10, followed by a rapid response paramedic at 13:20.
UPDATE @ 13:59 – 3 Police units have responded away from the incident towards Newport at speed. Other units are also preparing to leave the scene.
UPDATE @ 14:20 – The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and Police have now left the camp site.
UPDATE @ 15:32 – Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed they responded to Village Way following concerns for the welfare of a man.
Thankfully, the authority’s assistance was not required.
