LACK OF STAFF AND TECHNICAL WOES LEAD TO CROSS-SOLENT CANCELLATIONS

Those travelling to and from the Isle of Wight face disruption today (Monday) due to a mix of staff shortages and technical issues across 2 busy routes. Wightlink says that the 21:45 and 22:45 Fastcat sailings from Portsmouth Harbour have had to be cancelled due to a technical issue, alongside the cancellation of the 22:15 and 23:10 from Ryde Pier Head. A bus shuttle service between Ryde Pier Head and Fishbourne car ferry terminal will operate from 22:00-01:00, but spaces may be limited. Meanwhile, Red Funnel has announced the cancellation of its 19:30 vehicle ferry crossing from Southampton and the 21:00 from East Cowes. This is due to limited crew availability. Earlier today the 04:30 from Southampton and the 06:00 from East Cowes were cancelled, also due to staff shortages. Both cross-Solent operators apologise for any inconvenience to your journey.
