KFC have submitted a planning application for a brand new restaurant in Lake, some 16 months after Island Echo exclusively revealed the fast food chain’s plans.
An application for the erection of a drive-thru restaurant with associated advertisements, car parking, access, servicing, landscaping and engineering works has been submitted to the Isle of Wight Council. Should the plans be approved, up to 50 new jobs will be created.
A total of 37 car parking spaces are proposed for the new 250 square metre restaurant made up of 31 customer bays, 2 drive-thru waiting bays, 2 staff bays and 2 disabled bays.
Customers are expected to be be welcomed from 10:30 until 23:00 Sunday through to Thursday and 10:30 to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
KFC currently operate just 1 store on the Island at Furlongs, Newport. A second store in Union Street, Ryde closed back in December 2012.
Islanders have until 7th July to comment on the plans at https://www.iwight.com/planning/AppDetails3.aspx?frmId=32823. KFC consulted with local residents earlier this year.
