cowesyachthavenjamesmoodyCowes Yacht Haven have announced that it has made a new senior level appointment after strong sales of winter berthing and the expansion of their dry sail.  

James Moody joins the marina as deputy operations manager ahead of the summer season, when Cowes Yacht Haven will once again play host to international sailing events such as Cowes Week and the Round the Island Race.

James said:

“As a yachtsman myself, I couldn’t refuse the offer to work in Cowes, the home of international sailing. I’m excited to bring my broad experience to Cowes Yacht Haven, which ranges from boat building to sales, to marine and boat yard management.”

James, whose family have lived one the Isle of Wight for over 300 years, is also the seventh generation of AH Moody and Son Ltd yacht builders. He worked for the family company from the age of 17. As well as experience in boat building, he brings with him extensive knowledge of both marina and boatyard operations, having formerly held the position of marina manager at Gunwharf Quays.

James is a keen sailor and came third overall in the Round the Island Race in 1994. He has also competed in cross channel yacht races, the Hamble Winter Series and the Warsash Spring Series.
