A woman from Enfield in Middlesex is celebrating after winning a national competition to win a trip to the Isle of Wight for a family of four.
Janet Cutts’s name was picked out of the hat in the Telegraph’s competition, which was run as part of May’s Isle of Wight Walking Festival.
Her prize for her family includes accommodation organised by Island View Holidays, ferry travel and tickets to some of the Island’s best known attractions, including Osborne House, Dinosaur Isle, Carisbrooke Castle and the Isle of Wight Steam Railway.
Janet said:
“I was delighted when I was told I had won. My husband is a regular visitor to the Island but I have not been since I was 14 years old and really want to see it again.
“I’m most looking forward to seeing Whitecliff Bay and the beaches, and also Osborne House and Carisbrooke Castle. My son James wants to try coasteering and we also want to hire some bikes and try out some of the cycle routes. I am also looking forward to seeing how much Blackgang Chine has changed and to visiting Dinosaur Isle and the Steam Railway.”
Councillor Shirley Smart, Isle of Wight Council Executive member for Economy and Tourism, added:
“I offer my congratulations to Janet and her family for winning this fantastic competition.
“There is so much to see and do on the Island and it looks like Janet and her family already have a busy sightseeing schedule.
“I am sure they will have a wonderful time. “
The Isle of Wight Walking Festival is held every May and October and attracts thousands of visitors to the Island with dozens of walks to choose from.
