Several Isle of Wight businesses are attending the Southampton International Boat Show in just under 2 weeks’ time, showcasing some of the finest enterprise the Island has to offer.
Already announced as supporting ‘Message in a Bottle’ – the Island-linked boat that sailed the Atlantic – is Medina Bookshop of Cowes at Stand E030.
Micro Boats/Seaspray will be on stand H006. Their 15-foot Seaspray is popular as a fishing boat whilst their Micro Boats have now clocked up sales of 1,000. Based at Bowcombe this company has had a stand at the show for a number of years.
Boatfolk have marinas around the UK including at East Cowes, which was the winner of the British Marine Environmental Award at last year’s show. Off the coast of Dorset, Boatfolk are supporting a seagrass/seahorse environmental scheme and you can visit them at stand E038.
Seaward will once again be at this international show on the Marina at M133& M135. Based in Cowes their hand-crafted vessels range from 19ft to 42ft.
Of course, the big names in boating will also be there. Fairline – on the marina at M224, M226, M234, M240, M244 – is hosting the World debut of the Squadron 58 as well as showing F//LINE 33, Targa 45 OPEN and Targa 45 GT.
Meanwhile, Sunseeker will showcase the Superhawk 55 and 75 Sport Yacht for the first time at Britain’s biggest boating festival. Visitors will also have the chance to view the Manhattan 55, Predator 65, 65 Sport Yacht, Manhattan 68, 76 Yacht, 88 Yacht and 90 Ocean but all are dependent on availability at the time. Across the show site, which now extends from Westquay to Mayflower Park and onto the purpose-built Marina, there will be zones to cater for all tastes and interests. These include water sports, now with a pool and beach, and performance stages across other zones.
With the main entrance now near Westquay Shopping Centre, the show is easy to access. For those travelling from the Island, the Red Funnel Connect Bus will take you to West Quay in a matter of minutes.
