The Isle of Wight is waking to a light dusting of snow this morning (Tuesday).
For most of Monday several parts of the Island experienced snowfall for hours on end, but so light were the flakes that it failed to accumulate to much.
However, overnight the snow has finally laid to create a thin blanket of the white stuff, although some areas have seen more snow than others.
It appears northern areas such as Ryde and Newport have had a covering, whilst other places like Sandown have seen no snowfall at all.
With temperatures struggling to peak above freezing all day conditions on the roads are expected to be tricky, with ice likely to be present.
Motorists should take extra care on the roads, particularly with the closure of Yarbridge Cross at Brading. Police advise that the main roads are mainly clear.

Wheres all the snow Darren? You had people thinking it was going to be horrendous
It will be disappointing for all the snowflakes on the island, never mind winter isn’t over yet and there’s always next year..
Their voting me down already, LoL…
Ideal time for defrosting the freezer, colder outside it than in.
