A track circuit failure between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin has meant that service on the Island Line has been suspended this afternoon (Tuesday). It is expected that disruption will last until around 18:00 this evening. Those who have purchased tickets can use them to travel on Southern Vectis Route 2 & 3 buses. A South Western Railway spokesperson has said:
“We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey.”

Try saying sorry to the tourists with young members ds waiting to catch train in Shanklin now facing an hour journey on hot bus your a bl…y shambolic service(loose sense of word)sooner your taken out of private ownership the better it’s a joke and how do you go about a refund on all those return tickets you have flogged..
I think I have an old model railway set in my attic somewhere in case they need any spares for the jokes they call rolling stock and signalling equipment.
Island line is just as bloody useless as the floating bridge
Not to mention Wightlink, Red Funnel and Island Roads
All useless B’stards
Does anything work on this island ?????
The road closed signs seem to work, but not the diversion ones.
Certainly doesn’t seem so.
That’s why it is known as the poor cousin to the mainland.
Drunk drivers drug drivers, speeding, selling drugs and potholes.
Makes you laugh..why does it take an hr on the bus? Maybe because the roads are gridlocked because of a lack of investment by people who think the railways already get enough and are so car centric that nothing else other than using the car is good enough!
Ferries, trains and the floating bridge…..does anything actually work for this island?
How come with all these problems on transport they can give a time when it’s fixed
Because it is piece of electrical circuitry on the track. Simples.
