UPDATED: Hovertravel have had to suspend their cross-Solent service tonight (Sunday) due to a technical issue with their sole remaining hovercraft, Island Flyer.
Passengers on both sides of the Solent are stranded and will have to seek alternative transport as a result of the service suspension.
It comes just days after Solent Flyer was pulled from the fleet for the next 7 weeks due to a ballast transfer system failure.
It is unclear at this moment in time how severe the issue is and whether it will have a knock on effect to tomorrow morning’s commuter period.
UPDATE @ 22:02 – Hovertravel say their service will be operating in accordance with the revised timetable from 06:15 (Ryde) and 06:30 (Southsea) tomorrow morning.
Hovertravel wishes to apologise for the inconvenience caused.
