To say thank you for these contributions, Hovertravel is announcing a Golden Commemorative Charter on 4th August where 50 lucky guests will experience an unique trip on the Solent, complete with expert commentary from a hovercraft pilot. The guests will then be invited to join some of the Hovertravel team for a sumptuous afternoon tea at their Ryde terminal.
Neil Chapman, managing director at Hovertravel, explains:
“We have been surprised and grateful for the contributions we have received from around the world; ex-staff have popped in with pictures and posed for selfies, customers have sent in their memories and special gifts plus we have had some wonderful emails with images passed down through generations”.
Everyone who has sent in a memory up until 21st July will automatically be entered into the prize draw, with the 50 winners being randomly selected drawn on 22nd July by David Thornton from Visit Isle of Wight and Cheryl Buggy from Shaping Portsmouth.
“Please keep sending your fond memories and remember these can be from any time in the past five decades. Did you propose on the hovercraft? Did you travel across with us for your honeymoon? Or to see your grandchild for the first time? Please let us know.”
