Hovertravel has taken the decision to suspend its Ryde-Southsea service for the remainder of today (Wednesday) due to the weather conditions.
Adverse weather means the Flyer craft are unable to operate.
With the wind and rain set to remain for the rest of the evening, the decision has been made by the cross-Solent operator to call it a night.
The next update will be at 05:45 tomorrow morning.
Tickets are being accepted on Wightlink’s Fastcat service between Ryde Pier Head and Portsmouth Harbour.

Where is ivy searle with the stupid tarmac comment?
Wouldn’t be so bad if it was not for the fact we can’t get to the bloody sea cat for all the road works. And the train is not running up there either. This is what happens when you cut back on maintenance in all areas of life, a little rain and it all grinds to a halt.
And when your council tax goes up, remember the cost of the works being done is for the benefit of one company, the bus company. I used that bus station all the time, never thought it needed pulling down and rebuilding.
It’s due to bad weather
Perhaps you could just publish when they plan on running, it would save a lot of column inches
