UPDATED: A technical issue with Wightlink’s St Clare ferry is resulting in disruption to the Fishbourne-Portsmouth route this afternoon (Friday).
Island Echo understands the vessel has failed to depart the Fishbourne terminal as expected.
Wightlink are advising that customers may experience delays of up to an hour this afternoon. They apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Victoria of Wight is currently holding off just outside of Wootton Creek, whilst St Faith has diverted north towards Osborne Bay whilst on her journey across the Solent from Portsmouth.
UPDATE @ 13:23 – Wightlink are now advising of delays of up to 90 minutes.
They say their teams are working hard to resolve the technical issue.
UPDATE @ 14:36 – St Clare has left Fishbourne and has returned to Portsmouth.
St Faith and Victoria of Wight are working to clear the backlog of passengers and vehicles waiting to cross the Solent in both directions.
