The Island’s gritting team are ready to hit the roads once again with another cold night in store for the Isle of Wight.
A full gritting run will be undertaken from 18:00 this evening (Monday), with further treatment of known wet spots at 05:00 tomorrow morning.
Motorists are, as always, being encouraged to drive according to the road conditions.
To find a list of all the Island's gritting routes, you can visit our dedicated Isle of Wight Gritting Routes & Winter Maintenance page.

Well done to all the workers keeping our roads gritted as best they can throughout these dangerous driving conditions
Yes without such it would be carnage in the mornings.
Just tell that to the rapidly growing group of morons who continue to ‘drive’ like ****s !
Sicky, Sometimes the pot holes are the only thing that stops speeding cars, but then the large four by fours, aren’t bothered by even those.
Courts weak, as jails full of the world’s vile, no longer just our own.
I think this this eleven hour gap between treatments is too long. The grit manufacturers recommend four hours, and no research has been undertaken to determine if road safety will be compromised if the second dose is administered after midnight.
This is grit not cv vaccine. Slow down is all you need do.
