UPDATED: Firefighters are tackling a fire in the garden of a property in Elmfield, Ryde this morning (Friday).
2 appliances are currently on scene at Carlton Road and Victoria Crescent as both day crewed and retained firefighters work to extinguish the blaze, which is understood to have destroyed 2 sheds.
Crews are using breathing apparatus and 2 hose reels to tackle the fire. With a 2-prong attack, they have managed to stop the fire from spreading to nearby properties.
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to the incident at around 10:15.
UPDATE: Fire crews have now stood down from the incident having successfully extinguished the fire and cooled down the area.
The cause is unknown.
