Martha EggletonFreshwater Parish Council is holding a movie and music fundraising night in aid of the Freshwater Skatepark and Pump Track later this month. The event on 22nd March is to be held at the Memorial Hall in Freshwater. Doors open at 18:00 with the evening starting at 18:30 with skate movies from Wight Trash with Savage Waters at 19:30. Tickets are available on a first-come basis on the night. They can be purchased at https://ticketlab.co.uk/event/id/21533#/. After the movie, there will be live music from local skater Martha Eggleton and then Hashtag (a 3-piece band from the Isle of Wight specialising in funk, rock and indie music) until midnight. The bar will be open to the side of the hall. There will also be a raffle with some amazing prizes already lined up from Canopy, Wight Trash, Surf Ears, Teemill, Mermaid Gin, Sugar and Spice Lingerie and Earth, Wind & Water. An online auction will also take place, where you can bid on various items, including family tickets for Camp Bestival, One-of-a-kind piece from LTJ Jewellery, Sinner Saint Green Camo Jacket by Bird & Wolf, Eddie’s Surf Academy Voucher or a Slow Motion Sauna Experience for 6. Savage Waters is a tantalising passage in a 19th-century treasure hunter’s journal inspires a family of modern-day adventurers to find and surf a spectacular wave in some of the most remote and dangerous waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The film is an ode to pushing the limits of your world, connecting with the people around you, overcoming adversities with optimism and testing your grit.
