The Kebab House in Newport has been given top marks in its latest food hygiene inspection, just months after it was served a 1-star rating. Sharing the good news, a spokesperson for the business has said the premises was visited by an environmental health inspector on Friday 5th January. Isle of Wight Council inspectors had previously visited the takeaway on St James’ Street in October and had given it a rating of just 1, prompting the need for ‘major improvement’. Reacting at the time, The Kebab House said it was confident it ran a clean, safe and efficient business, adding it was working with a food safety consultant to ensure its valued customers and staff were taken good care of. The takeaway has since complied with the notices and has made the changes necessary for a 5 ‘very good’ rating. The kebab house says it is ‘very happy’ with its top marks and has thanked the Four Seasons Cookery Academy for its help.

So they can’t do the hazard analysis themselves, but get someone else in to do it for them, so I take it four seasons cooking academy are there ar all times when they are cooking the food and probing the food as to be correct temperature before sending out to customers? This is a farce it shouldn’t be allowed, If you can’t do it yourself because of lack of understanding then you shouldn’t be doing it at all, if I go and get something from there and fall ill, who will it come back on?? Come on iow council and food hygiene inspectors, pull your fingers out you b u m and do your job properly? So four seasons are going to be there everyday for opening checks and closing checks? Aswell as while food is being cooked? Doesn’t look good does it?
Still a no go for me, once filthy always filthy.
Except it is obviously not filthy and it never was filthy. The low rating was given for some issues with food storage.
Think there was a case of using dirty cloths used for meat, then being g used to wipe down surfaces,so basically a free for all in the kitchen for germs too spread, only saying what was written in the previous write up
Well unbelievable! Bet it’s still dirty , how’s the hand washing going?
just will never eat out again given the disgusting way these places on the Island are reported dirty.
Never had a Kebab and never will they look dreadful.
Don’t have take outs anyway, too expensive and are so full of junk I wouldn’t put my body through the chemical, fatty, potential food poisoning risk that they are.
If it was one star and now five star, then they obviously need supervision and hand holding to keep it clean.
No thank you, that’s a never.
