A former teacher from Ipswich, who most recently lived in East Cowes, has been jailed for 7 years for various sex offences.
Richard Cook, 48, was sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court on Friday (25th October).
Cook – most recently of Lambert Lane in East Cowes – initially denied 3x possessing an indecent photograph/pseudo-photo of a child, 3x attempting to cause/incite a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity and attempting to cause/incite a girl aged 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity.
The offences took place in Ipswich back in 2019. Cook was caught after being ‘stung’ by a vigilante group following conversations with what he thought were young children but were instead adult decoys.
Cook was found guilty of all offences at trial.
Judge Nicola Talbot-Hadley jailed Cook for a total of 7 years and handed him a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 15 years. He was also handed a restraining order that prevents him from seeing certain members of his family

And now he has moved from Ipswich to here ? Nice (not)
Good job he went to court in Ipswich. If he were sentenced on the Isle of Wight he would have been sent to bed early without any supper.
