A women-only gym that has quickly grown in popularity since opening in 2022 is set to relocate to a larger venue in Sandown’s former Post Office building, which has stood empty for almost 10 years.
The Fitness Hub, currently based on Leed Street, has announced plans to move into the old Post Office on Beachfield Road, with an opening date of September.
Owner Lyssa Truman shared the news on social media at the weekend, confirming that the gym has outgrown its current site and is ready to expand into the larger premises. She described the move as an exciting new chapter for the Fitness Hub and its members.
She says:
“This isn’t just any old gym – it’s about connection, support, laughs, and a real sense of community. We cannot wait to share our next chapter with everyone.”
Although the gym will remain women-only for now, Lyssa hinted that there may be new offerings for men in the future.
The Post Office on Beachfield Road closed in 2015, and this redevelopment marks a significant milestone in bringing the long-vacant building back into use.

Great news. I am very glad the building will be used again and congratulations to the success of the gym
It’s been empty for years. I wish the old post office
would have returned.
I think it women only is a bit discriminating against men.
