Firefighters from stations across the Island tackled a kitchen fire at The Old Smithy in Godshill last night (Thursday).
Crews from Newport, Ryde and Shanklin, first received calls of an ongoing incident at the popular shop and tearooms at around 21:30.
Firefighters were able to tackle the blaze quickly before more significant damage was caused.
No injuries were sustained.
I would like to know the cost of sending all of those appliances out and what happens when they get a shout to something else across the island, say in Bembridge????
