UPDATED: The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have been called to an accommodation block at St Mary’s Hospital in Newport this evening (Wednesday).
3 appliances from Newport and Ryde are on scene having been alerted to smoke issuing at 17:00.
Investigations are being carried out.
The main hospital is unaffected by the incident.
UPDATE – Following a thorough search, nothing has been found.
Crews are now standing down.
