UPDATED: Fire crews from Newport and East Cowes have been mobilised to reports of an outbuilding fire between Newport and Cowes this evening (Saturday).
2 appliances are currently on scene off Horsebridge Hill, close to the local wood yard.
Black smoke can be seen billowing into the sky from miles around. The first reports were received by Island Echo at just before 18:30.
UPDATE @ 18:52 – Crews have quickly been stood down from the incident following confirmation that the fire is in fact a bonfire.
