Cross-solent travel is being impacted by foggy conditions this morning (Saturday).
Red Funnel has confirmed that the 06:00 vehicle ferry from Southampton and the 07:30 return from East Cowes have both been cancelled due to the reduced visibility.
Earlier on the operator also cancelled the 3:00 from Southampton and 04:30 from East Cowes.
The hi-speed Red Jet service has been suspended until further notice.
Wightlink are advising that their Fishbourne-Portsmouth car ferry service is running with delays of up to 2 hours.
Further cancellations or delays are expected throughout this morning until the blanket lifts.
A yellow weather warning for fog is in place for the Isle of Wight, as issued by IW Met Service.
UPDATE @ 07:23 – Red Funnel have announced that the 07:30 crossing from Southampton and the 09:00 crossing from East Cowes have now been cancelled.
UPDATE @ 08:46 – The 09:00 Red Funnel sailing from Southampton and the 10:30 from East Cowes have also been cancelled.



























































































Can you imagine the likes of Captain Cook, looking up and cancelling his journey to discover far off world’s because of fog….
With all this technology today, and they still don’t run boats. Makes me smile
Good on you red funnel safety first when you sailed in fog in previous times incident happened peopled whinged so yes stop the sailings
But surely the skipper should have known if he was going forwards or astern? He had instruments to look at but preferred to stay in his seat.
