Firefighters from Ryde and Newport were called to a property in Glynn Close, Nettlestone this lunchtime (Sunday).
Three appliances were sent to the scene, however it was soon discovered to be a false alarm.
A small chimney fire is believed to have been the cause for the call out at around 11:30.
All three crews had returned to station by midday.
