UPDATED: Those looking to dump their rubbish at the Lynbottom Household Waste and Recycling Centre are unable to do so this morning due to a fallen tree branch that has resulted in the closure of Briddlesford Road.
Island Roads have closed the Downend to Wootton road in both directions in order to safely remove the obstruction.
The road is closed between Downend and Lynn Cross, which connects with Combley Road.
The Isle of Wight Council say that the closure is likely to be in place for around 2 hours, during which time access to the tip is blocked.
UPDATE @ 14:35 – Briddlesford Road has now re-opened in both directions following the successful removal of the hazard.
In turn, Lynnbottom HWRC has also re-opened.
