Cancellations have been announced on Red Funnel’s vehicle ferry service between East Cowes and Southampton today (Friday).
Both the 19:30 sailing from Southampton and the 21:00 sailing from East Cowes have been withdrawn due to technical reasons relating to the ships navigational equipment.
The operator says it apologises for any inconvenience the cancellations have caused to customers.
UPDATE @ 13:45 – Red Funnel say that the 21:00 sailing from Southampton may experience a delay of up to 3 hours for booked vehicle traffic.
What utter BS how do they know the navigation equipment will be faulty at those times but OK all afternoon. Smacks to me as being staff issues
If there is a fault with the navigation system why is it still in service all day and then they only miraculously cancel its last trip of the day more like light loadings or no staff
