UPDATED: Emergency services are attending a road traffic collision involving at least 1 motorcycle on the main Newport to Yarmouth road tonight (Monday).
Island Echo understands a scooter has sustained front end damage following the incident between Cranmore and Bouldnor near to Hill Place Lane.
Police and paramedics are in attendance having been alerted to the situation at around 21:00.
The road remains open in both directions.
UPDATE @ 22:15 – It is thought the rider of the damaged scooter fled the scene of the initial crash, but has come to a stop a short distance up the road.
Emergency crews are now with them.
It remains unclear if any other vehicles have been involved in the incident.
UPDATE – The incident has now been cleared.
