A number of early morning commuter sailings on Red Funnel’s hi-speed Red Jet service have been cancelled due to a technical issue.
The cross-Solent operator has confirmed that the 05:30 and 06:40 crossings from Southampton have been cancelled alongside the 06:05 and 07:15 from West Cowes.
It’s said that a technical issue with the starboard generator on Red Jet 6 is to blame.
Red Funnel apologises for the inconvenience caused to your journey.
It can’t just be coincidence that so often it’s the early morning crossings which are cancelled?
Here we go again, or not as the case maybe.
A mechanical problem doesnt just last for an hours service times! Its not fixed quick ready for crossing after 6.40.cmon …stop b sing

Are the technical staff just not competent at their job.
Or is this just an excuse because they don’t want to run it half empty.
I think we all know the Red Jets and Ferries don’t break down THAT OFTEN.
People need to know they can make appointment, get to their hospital treatments, get to their next connection eg train, planes, taxies, lifts etc.
They don’t need the stress of these vital services playing games, It’s so distressing when you have deadlines to meet and Hospital appointments.
BUILD A BRIDGE and get rid of this load of money grabbing, inconsistent people holding us all to ransom.

At this rate Red Funnel will receive a top award just like Wightlink. Just what is going on in this Country? People can now not rely on a great amount, example; Doctors, Dentists, Post, Trains, Airports, to name but a few.
…and they still have the cheek to charge full wack even though they’ve delayed you! Friday nights rtn journey we all sat at Southampton in minus 3 degree weather OUTSIDE as ALL the staff were sick, apparently. It was awful. Never been so cold…
