2 occupants of a Vauxhall Corsa suffered minor injuries when they were involved in a crash in Arreton overnight, in which the vehicle came to rest upside down on its roof.
The single vehicle collision occurred at just before 03:15 on the A3056 between Merstone Lane and Arreton Cross, near the junction with Downend Road.
The Corsa is thought to have gone wide into the edge of the carriageway before rolling over and coming to a stop on the other side of the road. Debris was spread across carriageway as a result.
No arrests have been made but Police say that they are in touch with the driver and enquiries are ongoing.
The incident occurred just an hour before a crash on the other side of Arreton, in which a car wiped our a telecommunications cabinet at Horringford.
Same weekend overnight reports, just different car(s) every week. How these new-fangled means of transport can’t stay on all four wheels baffles me, they won’t catch-on
There is a malevolent force on the island.
Agree, it’s called physics.
Will this dreadful standard of driving ever come to an end? Will people ever learn?! I suspect not. As I’ve often said before, crashes happen as a result of not concentrating, whatever the cause of that is. They certainly don’t happen if you’re concentrating on the road unless, of course, you become an innocent victim to someone else’s poor driving!
So you’ve never heard of a mechanical failure then, or someone having a medical episode at the wheel? It could have been bad driving and it could have been something else. Why speculate? Unless you know the cause it is pointless to sit there judging.
Brain failure, cars don’t turn over at 30 moh
In times gone by, quite possibly, when cars were less reliable. I’d suggest this is rare in modern vehicles though. I accept that a medical episode is quite possible, although I think unlikely in this case. However, if it was a medical episode, then I wish the occupants a full and speedy recovery. I’ve seen many drivers behaving like idiots in the middle of the night though, using this Islands little roads as though they’re a motorway.
Only two reasons for a vehicle to crash, mechanical error or driver error.
“ambition over adhesion”
another island driver that needs a retest
Many of you would be so shocked IF you knew how many people take drugs and drive. Truly shocked and at the differing classes which do so.
To all of you idiots who blame this snd that – WAIT until you know the facts. There was a spillage on the road !
If you’re riding a motorcycle, then I would be inclined to agree. Driving something with four wheels, I really don’t think you’d lose control in this way!
Rubbish!!!!!
