Police have confirmed that the death of a man in his 70s – whose body was found on land off a major road between Newport and Cowes this morning (Friday) – is not being treated as suspicious. Officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary discovered the body of the male in his 70s on land off Newport Road in Northwood shortly before 09:00 this morning. Island Echo understands that several units responded to the area near the Wight Military and Heritage Museum and were there for the majority of the morning. The death of the male is not being treated as suspicious. A file will be prepared for the Coroner.
