It comes due to the ongoing technical issue with the Aft main engine on Red Falcon.

A spokesperson for Red Funnel has said:
“We are experiencing delays to our vehicle ferry service at present (25th November) due to an issue with Red Falcon’s aft main engine. With Red Eagle also out of service for scheduled repairs, we are currently operating a one boat service with Red Osprey. Engineers are currently working hard to resolve the issue and restore Red Falcon, but until we are able to do that, we expect delays to our service.
“If you’re travelling with us today, please check our live service status page for the latest updates included expected sailing times. We sincerely apologise for this unexpected disruption and are working hard to bring Red Falcon back to service as quickly as possible. We expect to issue another update before noon today.”

UPDATE @ 11:00 – Red Funnel has confirmed that the engine issue has been resolved and Red Falcon is once again able to be utilised on the service.
Delays are still expected but will be significantly reduced, with the timetable expected to resume as normal from midday.

How much was the tunnel going to cost?
Can we have a whip-round
Well thats £4 so far then lol.
I’m travelling to Spain Monday. Wightlink to Portsmouth 12 miles £75 = £6.25 per mile. Britney ferries Portsmouth to Santandar approximately 800 miles £485 = £1.65 a mile. With a cabin and a meal. Does this make any sense at all? Wightlink almost four times the price!
A bridge or a tunnel. Either one will do.
