Strong gusts accompanied by heavy rain that is sweeping across the Isle of Wight are causing disruption to cross-Solent travel this morning (Friday).
Hovertravel has confirmed that it’s Ryde to Southsea service has been suspended until further notice due to the adverse weather conditions being experienced.
An update is due at 09:00 but it’s thought that the hovers will be grounded for most of the day.
Red Funnel’s services have also been hit with a number of cancellations to the hi-speed Red Jet service.
The 06:05, 07:15 and 08:25 sailings from Southampton have been pulled alongside the 06:40, 07:50 and 09:00 sailings from West Cowes.
All other cross-Solent services are running to timetable.
A yellow weather warning for wind, issued by IW Met Service earlier this week, is currently in force across the Isle of Wight.

I wouldn’t want to travel on the ferry today, went to mainland yesterday it wasn’t a very pleasant journey coming back at 3pm. Today is way way worse.
