A crash on Long Lane between Newport and Robin Hill has seen the road blocked with traffic trying to turn around in both directions.
A bus caught up at the scene is currently stuck, being unable to turn around.
Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary are now on scene.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
UPDATE – The road has now reopened.

Likely some chav visiting its scattered kids speeding or drugged up or both.
What is going on?Longlane has to be one of the easiest roads to drive along fast.An experienced driver like me will quite often drive along here at a ton plus while remaining 100% focused. All you other muppets slow down before somebody get’s seriously injured you’re putting my insurance up.
It is very fortunate, then, that you are the only person in the world and you don’t have to consider anybody else
Troll alert.
Why are you Trolling then?? You’ve mad no comments on the subject at hand….
Its called an opinion and to correct you its Made not Mad or are you referring to your other Mad comment re island drivers.
More idiot island drivers crashing into the tourist, why don’t you stop this idiassy….Come winter, your even worse….
Usual aged tip goers snarling up the road creating a hazard for other motorists.
My guess is speeding is to blame.
Islandwide speed cameras will stop this nonsense
I know who it was, he’s only 18 and he was more than likely speeding but he slipped out.
These Nippers are setting a bad example on Island Roads
Maybe it’s about time they increased the driving age to 21
It’s that time of the year when you can add grockles to the already bad driving and crash rate just to make things worse over here.
This is a very dangerous road, there are idiots that speed along here, the Council needs to reduce the speed limit here. My friend lives along here and I am so frightened of pulling out of the drive with the speed of the traffic its very frightening. We don’t need more than 40mph on our island roads! Think how many lives would be saved.
They need to make the driver test for cars 100% harder and introduce a psychological evaluation as part of the application process for a provisional license and a six monthly requirement once a person passes their test at the person’s own expense of course this would weed out the arrogant narcissistic assholes with bad attitudes from roads you know the ones that never give way never indicate drive two feet over the white centre lines or completely on the wrong side of the road like bus drivers for example and the junkies after all the dsa claim you are tested on your attitude but the driver test dosent come close to testing this hence the amount of assholes and junkies on the roads that shouldn’t be
