Cowes Yacht Haven has announced that it has been selected as the latest member of TransEurope Marinas after a rigorous vetting programme. Cowes Yacht Haven is the first marina to be granted this status on the Isle of Wight and is the 30th in the UK.
The association of select European marinas offers reciprocal berthing arrangements, meaning Cowes Yacht Haven annual berth-holders will now be able to enjoy a stay discounted by up to 50% in eight different countries at any of the 69 TransEurope marinas. Vice versa, berth-holders from across Europe will now also receive discounted stay at Cowes Yacht Haven.
The news is likely to attract TransEurope members looking for a ‘home away from home’ to the Isle of Wight, reassured that Cowes Yacht Haven has met all standards required.
Jon Pridham, managing director of Cowes Yacht Haven said:
“We are pleased to announce Cowes Yacht Haven is now a member of Transeurope marinas. We are very positive that this will benefit the Island and its tourism greatly and offers a great opportunity for our berth-holders to explore other marinas around the continent.”
The TransEurope Marina Association seeks to provide a genuinely warm welcome to visiting yachtsmen and women, a tradition Cowes Yacht Haven is keen to continue. Cowes Yacht Haven offers much more than a berthing station, with immediate access to local shops, pubs and restaurants of Cowes High Street and the rest of the Island’s attractions within easy reach. The marina is fully equipped with laundry, toilet and shower facilities as well as on site engineers, electricians and boat repairers.
A recent dredging project resulted in Cowes Yacht Haven maintaining minimum depths of 3.5m even in low spring tides, allowing the marina to cater for small superyachts and large boats over the coming years.
